The cottage is suitable for up to four adults, or two adults and up to three children*. This two bedroom, waterfront cottage is at the very tip of the Bruce Peninsula, where the waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay meet. The scenery and surrounding views are breathtaking. Many consider this waterfront lot to be one of the nicest in the Tobermory area; the busy tourist harbour with boutiques and stores is a quick stroll away.
The large, multi-level deck offers fabulous views of the Georgian Bay Islands, Fathom Five National Marine Park and Big Tub lighthouse across the bay. The Chi-Cheemaun Ferry, which travels from Tobermory to Manitoulin island four times each day, can be seen just off the deck as it arrives in the Tobermory Harbour.
The cottage also overlooks Big Tub Harbour, home of the historic Big Tub Lighthouse. The harbour is also the final resting place of The Sweepstakes, the wreck of an eighteenth-century schooner. There are many activities to keep a family busy during a summer vacation including hiking, snorkelling, diving, boating, and visits to the Bruce Peninsula National Park. The turquoise, crystal clear waters of Tobermory are often compared to the waters of the Caribbean. The cottage is located next to a tour boat business that takes guests to view hundred-year-old shipwrecks, the famous flowerpot rock formations of Flowerpot Island, and beautiful sunset cruises.
Tobermory officially takes the #1 spot on Canada's Top Ten Hidden Travel Gems as determined by Canadians. For further information, go to www.explorethebruce.com/locals-know-canada.cfm

| The pictures doesnt do the property and the views justice. It was well prepared and very comfortable for our family to spend time in. The location was excellent as we could easily walk and reach all attractions and amenities and was very convenient when the town center was extremely busy as we could easily get in and out. Will definitely book again.

| We had a wonderful 1 week stay at Sunset Getaway Cottage! We were two couples and the cottage was perfect for us. The multi-level deck is fabulous and we spent many hours out there relaxing, watching the boats, having our meals and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Having the fireplace was very cozy at night and enjoyed by all. The Tobermory area is beautiful with so many things to do. Hiking in the park, taking a boat trip to the Flowerpot Island, walking around the village, swimming in the crystal clear water and mountain biking were just a few of the things we enjoyed. Hope to return to this magical place someday soon! :)

| The cottage had everything we hoped for, a fabulous view, a great deck for watching the sunsets and the boats. Perfect five minute walk to Tobermory. The noise level from the Bruce Anchor tour boats was not an issue. We would go back. If you want a beautiful cottage getaway choose this one.

| My husband and I took my parents to Tobermory for the first time and wanted to stay close to the main town and found this cottage here. We were here for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it! The house is very cozy and we just cannot get enough of the decks! There are two levels and you have access right to the water from the bottom deck. It is a little noisy during sunset but you really cannot see anyone (unless they climb onto the rocks) so you do have the privacy. We didn't mind the crowd too much as everyone is there to enjoy the beautiful place! The cottage is well stock with what we needed to cook and BBQ. There is a super market close by. This cottage is perfect or 2 couples or a small family who just want to enjoy the area. Thank Jonathon and Alison for sharing their lovely cottage with us!

Owner response: Thank you so much, Kitty! We are so happy that you enjoyed the cottage, and we hope that you will return in the future! The tour company has been very good at keeping people off of the rocks at the bottom of our property, but we will check to make sure that they are still enforcing this when we go back to the cottage this week. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review - we really appreciate it! | |

| Alison and Jonathon's place is really a magical chalet! The view from the upper deck is spectacular. We celebrated a birthday here and it was perfect! There were gentle sounds of the water splashing on the rocks below and the sunset was simply gorgeous.
The lower deck is cozier and the sounds of water splashing is much more pronounced and excellent for meditation. We swam at the rocks right below the lower deck and used wetsuits from the chalet. It was wonderful ? we especially enjoyed jumping from one of the big rocks into the crystal-clear water. We also took the wetsuits to the Indian Head Cove and the Grotto, where we swam in unbelievable turquoise water and got to see some beautiful cave features as well.
Late at night, we decided to do some stargazing and saw many shooting stars. The feeling of laying down with a blanket on top of us and hearing water splashing below could not have been any better.
Right next to Alison's chalet, there is Bruce Anchor Tour, where we took a cruise to Flowerpot Island and saw many ship-wrecks. We also rented paddle boards and paddled from Big Tub Harbour to the chalet.
Finally, the interior of the chalet was super cozy and comfortable for six people. When it was raining, we played Jenga and Pictionary next to the fireplace. Three of us close friends stayed at the Bunkie area, where there is plenty of space. We also got to setup badminton and play it nearby. So yes, the place has everything you may need and desire.
