| We've rented cottages for years, and this was our first genuinely disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we didn't feel the property met the standard we expected for the price we paid.
We found the hot water was barely sufficient for a shower. We also felt the listing photos presented the property more favourably than it appeared during our stay.
We had concerns about the cleanliness. The couch and pillows in the main living area were worn and had a noticeable odour, the master bedroom sheets were stained, and we observed visible pet hair on some of the furniture.
The waterfront had significant weeds and a stagnant smell, which made it less enjoyable than we expected. The main-floor bedroom was sparsely furnished, and we found the mattress uncomfortable. The kitchen was also missing basic items such as tea towels, so we had to purchase our own.
While some of these issues might have been easier to overlook at a much lower price point, we felt they were unacceptable given the cost of the rental. Based on our experience, we would not stay here again and will likely return to resorts where the level of quality is more consistent.

You were right about the cleanliness — that's on us, and we've brought this to attention to our cleaning crew and made sure to handle every point you mentioned including buying new sheets and pillows. We're also addressing the hot water, waterfront, and the bedroom and kitchen details so the cottage fully lives up to its photos and price.
