| Beautiful cottage, but be aware of the neighbouring property
We booked Sail Away for a week in mid-August with our two teenagers, and I want to be fair to the owners first: the cottage itself is lovely. They've clearly put real care into the place, and it's set up to be a special spot on the lake. Edwina and the Ontario Cottage Rentals team were also genuinely responsive and did what they could to help us once problems started.
What I wish we'd known before booking is how close the neighbouring cottage sits, and how much noise comes from it.
For the first part of our stay, the property next door hosted at least three families. They ran a range of motorized recreation through the day, and in the evenings motocross bikes were being raced up and down the road. When that group left on Sunday, construction started at 8 a.m. the next morning, a loader and a backhoe, both with reversing alarms going constantly, plus a stone-cutting saw that was by far the loudest of it. The dust drifted straight toward us depending on the wind. We were told the work would wrap up by 5 p.m. on the 19th; it continued for the rest of our stay. We had audio and video of all of it from the back deck of Sail Away.
We ended up cutting our trip short and leaving two days early rather than get woken at 8 a.m. again.

| We love everything about this cottage! We've stayed here a couple of times and look forward to coming back again soon. Our experiences have been top notch. The cottage is clean and cheery.
