| Great cottage at a reasonable rate for 6 bedrooms (3 upstairs and 3 downstairs). The downstairs is recently renovated and like a 2nd apartment with a kitchen and living room with tv.
The next door neighbours are friendly and there's a tree line on either side of backyard for privacy. The lake was lovely and while it's a little rocky for the first couple of metres it turns into a nice sandy bottom for quite a ways. The dock is in good condition and you can always jump off the end of it to get into the water and avoid the rocks. The BBQ worked great and there's loads of lawn furniture to use. There's also a ceiling fan in every bedroom which helps with no AC. The firepit is nice in the backyard and there's plenty of local roadside-firewood for sale.
One improvement I recommend is for the bedroom with the king, is to replace the mattress It's flimsy and doesn't make for a great sleep for a couple. One of those memory foam 'mattress in a box' would be an easy upgrade.
Overall a lovely cottage, especially with 6 bedrooms!

Réponse proprio: Brian and his group were great, warm guests and they left the cottage and outside areas in a clean condition. They followed all of the cottage guidelines that they were presented with! It was a pleasure communicating with Brian and you could always count on a prompt response to any of our requests. During their stay my wife and I had to visit the cottage to pick up certain items from the boathouse, and Brian and his group were very accommodating! We would definitely rent to Brian again and would recommend him and his group to any other cottage owners. | |

| I spent a week at West Bay Cottage on the lake, and I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable getaways I've ever experienced. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how peaceful and picturesque the setting was. The cottage itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and filled with thoughtful touches that make it feel like a true home away from home.
Waking up each morning to the shimmering view of the lake was nothing short of magical. We spent our days swimming, kayaking, and just lounging by the water, and every evening brought breathtaking sunsets right from the deck. The location strikes the perfect balance: quiet and private, yet close enough to explore nearby trails, shops, and local attractions.
Inside, the cottage is both cozy and spacious, with comfortable furniture, a well-equipped kitchen, and everything you could possibly need for a carefree stay. It's clear the owners put great care into ensuring their guests feel welcome.
Whether you're looking for adventure on the water or simply a serene place to recharge, West Bay Cottage delivers it all. I left feeling refreshed, grateful, and eager to plan my return. I can't recommend this spot highly enough—it's truly a gem on the lake!

| We were supposed to rent this beautiful property out for the New Year weekend but Covid restrictions ruined our plans. The owner Chris was more than helpful and agreed to refund us back the full amount and did so promptly. He was very gracious and while we didn't get a chance to stay at the cottage, his hospitality will definitely bring us back there again!

| Great cottage! We were a group of 20 and the cottage was perfect to accommodate all of us. Kitchens were spacious, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Bedrooms and sofa beds provided enough space options for us all to feel comfortable. Balsam lake is beautiful - too bad we had a couple of days of bad weather, but we still could feel the peacefulness and calmness of the clear water. Very safe, quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. I went for a few early morning jogs to admire the beautiful scenery.
Chris was easily accessible via email and phone and was very helpful in providing all information required. We will definitely go back and we recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great time by the lake!
