I had family visiting from Ireland and wanted to show them a true Canadian experience so I decided to rent a cottage. I lucked out with this place.
This cottage was simply fantastic, breathtaking views of Loon Call Lake.
The dock has deep water at it which is great for jumping into the lake to cool off.
The sun hits the cottage after morning and you can watch it set behind the trees across the lake later that evening. The dock had multiple kayaks and canoes to use, my brother and I set off down the lake in two kayaks and we ended up exploring the whole lake it was so beautiful and calm. My mother chose to stay on the decking beside the cottage and watch the local squirrels and chipmunks, she even saw a hummingbird!
The cottage has a real loving and cosy feel to it. The decor reminded me of a family home, full of love and memories.
No hidden surprises or crazy house rules either, everything was upfront and straight forward. Some cottages have some weird and strict rules with hidden fees, not here which is honestly refreshing.
We all had a fantastic time and I will be back as soon as I can. My partner is adamant I show her this place after seeing my photos and videos, not that any excuse is needed to revisit this place.

The Boyd's Nest was a beautiful and relaxing cottage! The owner was very responsive and we didn't run into any problems because they had wonderful communication with us. Lots of movies and games for gloomy weather and a wonderful dock and toys for fun in the water. I would definitely return!!
