Nestled in the quaint Victorian cottage community of Butternut Bay, this 4 bedroom, very spacious, 1 1/ 2 bath treasured vacation home offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the beautiful St. Lawrence River. A spacious community dock with diving tower and swimming raft is perfect for family fun, but those who prefer more privacy can enjoy the breeze on the private screened porch or large stone patio. Although this is a fairly large cottage, we prefer to limit the guests to five people.
One of the last remaining communities of its kind in the Thousand Islands, Butternut Bay boasts a spectacular collection of century-old gingerbread-style summer homes. Our cottage enjoys a prime location with a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence. It has been extensively updated in the past few years, while retaining its historic charm.
Because Butternut Bay is an historic community and the cottages are in close proximity to one another, consideration for our neighbors is a part of life. To protect our very special place and to respect our long-time friends, no loud parties and large groups of guests are permitted.
Waterfront: Usage of large community dock and boat slip for a boat up to 22'. Heating: Yes - baseboard electric heating throughout the downstairs area. These also heat the upstairs. Guests allowed: Yes, but limited number to visit by day.
The cottage is on two floors, with a large, main floor screened sitting porch, dining room, spacious living room, four-piece bath and a master bedroom with a two-piece en suite bathroom. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a large screened sleeping porch.
Appliances and equipment in the cottage include a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, BBQ, clothes dryer (no washing machine), cable TV and a DVD player. A blue box is provided and garbage is collected from a community dumpster on a regular basis.
The tap water is drinkable and the cottage operates on a holding tank system for all waste water. We supply pillows, blankets and duvets, but we ask guests to provide their own linens and towels.
Parking for two cars is available behind the cottage.

| Spent a lovely relaxing week at the cottage. The building is over 100 years old but the owners have clearly spent a lot of time on maintenance and upgrades. We typically bring a few kitchen essentials with us when renting a cottage, but there was no need in this case since it is very well equipped. We found it clean and spacious, with wonderful views of the St. Lawrence from the screened-in porch. Loved watching the ships go by and then checking out online their origin and destination. Swimming is easily accessible and the diving tower is handy for the adventurous types.
Butternut Bay is quite close to Brockville, making it an easy destination for a bit of exploring (we were fortunate to be there when the Tall Ships Festival and then the Regatta were on). We also visited the Railway Tunnel, The Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, walked around the downtown area, and visited the plentiful grocery stores. The Thousand Islands Parkway affords lovely views of the St. Lawrence and its many islands with several picnic areas available. Scenic cruises can be taken from either Brockville, Rockport or Gananoque, all within an easy driving distance.
We thank our friendly and accommodating host Denise for a wonderful week. Will highly recommend this to friends and family.

| A Cottage Stay That Won't Disappoint!
The Anderson Cottage nestled along the St Lawrence River is a tiny piece of heaven boosting magnificent views of the Thousand Islands. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our recent vacation there. The dock with diving tower and swimming raft, stoned patio and ability to watch ships pass by from the dock or the screened porch brought much delight. The cottage's interior has been beautifully decorated/renovated, offering spacious kitchen and living room plus screened in sleeping porch. It is situated in close proximity to Brockville and Historical Fort Wellington. With gracious hosts and a friendly community this is a cottage to create lasting family memories in.

| Anderson Family Cottage is very well maintained with an extremely roomy kitchen with every amenity one would need while on vacation. The dining area is off the kitchen and has plenty of seating. The large living room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom is quite large with a very comfortable bed and it has an ensuite powder room which is unusual in a cottage and a bonus in my view as that was my bedroom for the week. The front porch spans the front of the building and is very airy, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The view of the St. Lawrence River from there and from the outside patio is spectacular. Brockville is a short drive away and is a very nice little town. There are many other unique towns in the area for day trippers such as Westport, Gananoque and Merrickville. We had a very memorable stay.

| Butternut Bay is an easy-to-access cottage community on the beautiful St. Lawrence River, just 10 minutes west of Brockville. The Anderson Family Cottage, commanding an unobstructed view of the activity on the river (from kayakers to sea planes to ocean liners and lakers), is spacious and comfortable. The cottage, which was built in the late 1800s, is bright and airy, with fresh, attractive furnishings and a generous kitchen. The cottage is fronted by a large, screened verandah. On the upper level, a screened sleeping porch offers views of starry skies, sunrises, and early morning mists, and the quietness of the night is broken only by the call of a loon, the throb of a passing ship, or early morning birdsong. In the summer, the Bay is full of families and friendly children enjoying hours of swimming off the large community dock. For a change of scene, there are shops, restaurants, theatres and summer activities in nearby Brockville, Rockport, Gananoque and Kingston. A terrific place for a memorable family vacation.
