My husband and I and two daughters stayed from Sept 23-26, 2021. I can't say enough about what an incredible stay we had. The owners Melanie and Peter were amazing to deal with. They were there for anything you should need. The cottage is a work of art that they themselves put together.
With the weather just perfect not too hot, not too cold we were able to swim. There were plenty of boats available, kayaks, canoe, and paddle boat, and all supplies needed for them. We enjoyed a fun campfire even in the rain, again with all supplies needed to start the fire.
The cottage was very clean, spacious and homey. The view is just crazy, and I definately reccomend coming this time of the year to see the change of the leaves. There was internet available with TV for rainy days or in the evenings. The public beach is 10 mins away. It was very quiet and private off this lake too which was very nice. We all went horseback riding in Maynooth at Highland Wilderness Tours which was 20 mins away from the cottage. I highly recommend them too. Thank you again Peter and Melanie, we hope to end up your way again!

We had an amazing time at this cottage. If you're looking to spend some time relaxing by the lake, this is your place to go. Peter and Melanie were very accommodating and helped us have a great time. Fire pit was perfect, lake was perfect, inside the cottage was perfect, everything was perfect! The name speaks for itself. What. A. View. Thank you Peter and Melanie one last time :)

Spent a week in July with my partner and three teens at 'What A View' cottage. And yes, you'll know exactly why it is so aptly named the minute you arrive.

The cottage itself was new, impeccably clean, well-appointed and very roomy. We were able to spread out yet still be together, perfect for a pandemic family holiday. The incredible view of Lake Papineau was with us throughout the property, both inside and out which is exactly what you want in a cottage. We took advantage of the many amenities and comforts of vacation living -- use of the many boats, outdoor dining, lounging on the deck, relaxing on the swing, fire pit at night and even watching movies on the large TV, each of us with our own reclining chair.
Melanie and Peter were very attentive hosts and provided a lot of good info leading up to our stay.

We took in a hike on the Papineau Lake Cliff north trail nearby. Only 1.3 km but spectacular views at the top. We also did a rafting trip with the Madawaska Kanu Ctr which was a lot of fun for everyone. Dinner out one night at the Heartwood Restaurant in Comberemere, was an incredible gem of a resto nearby.

Every day of our stay was wonderful. We really needed the break after the year we (and everyone) has had. We've rented a lot of cottages and of all my family agreed that 'What A View' has been the best. Thank you Peter and Melanie for sharing your incredible cottage. It made our summer.

Our stay at the cottage was amazing. The cottage itself is beautiful. Everything was clean and the view is amazing. Melanie our host was always very responsive from the time of pre booking to checkout to insure our stay was enjoyable and to answer any questions we may have. We enjoyed our stay so much we are working on our next booking. If you are looking for a great cottage getaway look no further.
