Beautiful oceanfront beach house located in the charming seaside village of Pugwash, Nova Scotia. Six acres of private grounds include a sloping lawn to the beach. This is one of the few "walk on" properties in the area: no cliffs or stairs to access the beach! Perfect for peaceful family vacations or getaways. Enjoy an uninterrupted ocean view. Jump out of bed and swim in the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait, which reach 23C (73F) in summer (said to be the warmest waters north of the Carolinas). Explore sandbars and tidal flats at low tide, or look for beach glass. There are also several larger public sandy beaches nearby (one with lifeguard service). The night sky is filled with a carpet of stars, often featuring the Milky Way. Pugwash is perfectly situated for easy day trips to Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, as well as other Nova Scotia locations for rafting and kayaking tours, winery tours, live theatre, shopping and sightseeing. Visit the craft brewery and quaint shops in nearby Tatamagouche, or Jost Vineyards, Nova Scotia's largest winery for lunch and wine tasting in Malagash. The beach house is light-filled with cathedral ceilings and plank and beam construction. The large wraparound cedar deck allows sitting in both the sun and shade, at all times of day. Enjoy morning coffee and one of Sheryl's famous cinnamon buns on the back deck in the sun, then move to the front deck to sunbathe and watch the sun set over the ocean. A propane grill and plenty of outdoor furniture are present for outdoor cooking/ dining. The kitchen is a great gathering place, with an island and stools to chat while the cook prepares dinner on the gas range. A built in under-counter refrigerator is supplemented by a larger refrigerator in the basement, where the washer and dryer are also located. Read a book or surf the net in the light and airy living room. One bedroom with sofa bed is located on the main floor, and functions also as a den, where the children can watch dvds, read or play board games. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with European bedding and whitewashed wooden floors, the perfect place to drift off to sleep after a day in the sun and sand. Upstairs also has a 3 piece bathroom with tiled walk-in shower. All linens (including towels and beach towels) and kitchen basics (spices, oils and vinegars, etc.) are provided for your convenience.
From the beach house it is a 10 minute walk along the waterfront to the village. Shops (groceries, prescriptions, hardware), cafe, art gallery, antique and gift shop, bakery, farmers' market, liquor store, library, hospital, post office and bank are all close by. Stroll along the beach in the evening, after walking to the ice cream parlour. Visit the Thinkers' Lodge, where you can view their Nobel Peace Prize and learn of Pugwash's exciting role in history. The village also has public tennis courts, basketball courts, beach volleyball and several playgrounds. The revered oceanside 18 hole golf course, Northumberland Links (rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest), is a 10 minute drive, and the award-winning Fox Harb'r Resort and Golf Club is 15 minutes away, making our cottage a great golfers' destination! A local lobster pound provides lobster, fish and other seafood to enjoy on the deck while watching amazing sunsets.
Rentals are 1 week in duration, from Friday to Friday.

| We are back from a most relaxing stay at your beautiful beach house! We are so happy with our stay, it was just like the website photos, we just loved everything about the beach house and property, it is a gem. The proximity to the beach was so convenient, and we enjoyed day trips to lovely Tatamagouche and the Jost Winery in Malagash. A favorite for all of us was the outdoor cedar shower, one of the best features for sure. We saw the deer family daily, really loved the campfire and sunsets, just all so wonderful for a very memorable beach vacation. Thank you again for the excellent detail on the website, which was brought to life so accurately when we checked in! We will be recommending to friends :)

| The perfect spot! The Beach House is so beautiful, very clean and equipped with everything you need. The property is lovely, and the view (and sunsets).... just amazing! It's very, very quiet and calm, perfect for a relaxing time.
Sunbathing on the deck and strolling the beach at low tide were our main diversions. The back deck is very spacious and great for a lobster cookout (you can get fresh off the boat lobster just on the outskirts of the village)! The cottage is close to great attractions, like Thinkers' Lodge National Historic Site, Jost Winery, Pugwash Farmers Market (Saturdays mornings - recommend stocking up on all your dinner needs here - amazing produce, meats and sweets), Tatamagouche Brewing Company, Kayaking tours, great beaches and more.
This is a very well kept and comfortable cottage. High ceilings, floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views, open concept living are just some of it's amazing features. We had a fantastic stay. Beautiful location and wonderful accommodations. Exceeded all expectations. Will definitely be returning!

| Our family stayed at the Pugwash Beach House for two weeks in July this year. It is a beautiful cottage and is exactly as described on the site. We arrived to a spotlessly clean cottage overlooking the beach. It is bright and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses, cutlery and pots and pans. Lots of towels in the bathroom and a large basket of colourful beach towels. The outdoor BBQ was great and well used during our vacation. The cottage has a great deck around it which was wonderful for catching the sun/shade throughout the day. There is a full size washer and dryer in the basement which was a necessity for our family. The caretaker was just wonderful. From greeting us with a chilled bottle of local wine, to checking in on us throughout our stay. Great hospitality! The community of Pugwash is a gem! The local Co-op had everything we needed. Very convenient having a liquor store right beside it. Lots of great shopping at the local stores and the bakery makes the most delicious cinnamon buns! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have rebooked for next summer!

| We were impressed with both the charm and convenience of this lovely cottage. The house and grounds were well looked after with many items to make our stay comfortable. The kids loved the basketball, badminton, and soccer nets. We loved the well-equipped kitchen. We loved the fire pit and the beach for looking for beach glass and shells. Make sure you make the 10 minute drive to Port Howe to buy some fresh sea food. The public beach is only 5 minutes away. The bedrooms had very nice bedding and the beds were very comfortable. The cottage is close enough to town that we walked to the grocery/liquor store easily. The owner and her property manager were both attentive and professional to deal with.
