WHISKEY JACK ON GOLDEN LAKE is a newly renovated 4-season waterfront cottage on Golden Lake in the Upper Ottawa Valley Region, famed for its stunning outdoors. The Cottage is named after the Whiskeyjack or Canada Gray Jay, a year-round resident bird.
The cottage has 106 feet of private, shallow, shoreline that an adult can walk out in for 100 feet or more and only be at chest level. Access to the water is via a dock ladder. Under foot is a firm, hard bottom, a bit of water grass, but no weeds. The exposure is southeast for beautiful morning sunrises and lots of sun at the shore all day long. Golden Lake is also known for its spectacular sunsets which can be glimpsed round the cottages other side.
As you enter the cottage, you come into a cozy space to relax plus a large table for dining or family board games. There is a walkout to the lakeside deck from the living room, and a large eat-in kitchen has everything you need to prepare great meals.
Whiskeyjack Cottage has three bedrooms. Both the Master and second bedroom have queen-size beds, a sitting area, and French doors, which open onto the lakeside deck. The third bedroom has bunk-beds with a double bottom and single top. The fully renovated 4 piece bathroom has a tub with shower.
Outdoors has everything you need for a relaxing cottage experience. The large patio area features a BBQ for the Cottage Chef and furniture for dining al fresco, plus a fire pit lakeside for those evening marshmallow roasts. The cottage is set well away from the road with a grassy backyard for play. The cottage is only 30 feet from the water's edge and there is access to the water via a dock ladder off the dock. If you are using watercraft, you need to bring your own PDF's/life jackets. They are not provided by the owner. Whiskey Jack is in a neighbourhood of cottages, with close proximity to the highway.
