I rented this cottage in late June for a quiet place to take my parents and dog to for an extended weekend. We arrived on Friday, June 23'17 staying for a few nights and leaving on Monday, June 26'17.

The cottage is exactly as described in the listing. Immaculate, quiet, and peaceful. Very close to town - literally 5-10 minutes away, along with other places to visit, such as, parks, casino, shopping centers, cute little hometown places for ice cream or other knick knacks.

The view of the lake is awesome! Either sitting by the firepit area, on the back balcony, or laying on the bed in the main bedroom.

We heard many different types of birds, saw families of ducks every single day, as well as, a mink or some other animal swimming in the water one night. You can fish off the dock or if you have a boat, get on the lake. We saw quite a bit of people fishing every day from their boats.

I wouldn't suggest swimming directly from this cottage (i.e. jumping from the dock) as it is a bit weedy. Water is great for kayaking though.

I would definitely recommend to others. If you want a nice quiet place away, this is a great bet. Just pack your food and drinks and you're good to go! Cottage is well stocked and ready to welcome guests.

My husband and I rented Fife's Bay Getaway for three days in May for some much needed R & R. We couldn't have chosen a better place! You do not need to hesitate or be concerned that you are not going to see what is shown on the website, it is exactly like the pictures. Beautifully decorated with little touches to make it warm and cozy. This place is like a little piece of heaven! So peaceful and inviting to sit by the lake with a fire going. We also did some fishing and just enjoyed the serenity. If you enjoy the outdoors and wildlife, this is the perfect place to just sit back and take it all in. We loved all the different varieties of birds that frequented the bird feeder, hanging just outside the back door by the deck. We got some beautiful nature pictures. We would definitely go back to Fife's Bay Getaway! Loved it!

Stayed at this cottage with three other girlfriends for 2 nights. Steve was a great host, very quick to answer any questions we had. The cottage itself was immaculate, super clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is VERY well equipped and even had a dishwasher which was great. Internet and cable included. The beds were very comfortable. Nice shower. Large kitchen island was great to gather around with 2 bar seats and a couple of wooden stools. The cottage was very well stocked, all we needed was our clothes and groceries. Firewood was left for us. They had movies, board games, and cards to occupy ourselves while it rained. Quick drive to town for groceries along with a LCBO, Walmart, and Canadian Tire. There was a welcome message with all 4 of our names on the chalkboard in the kitchen which we all thought was adorable. Our group all agreed that we would definitely come back and we'd happily recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I rented this cottage for a winter getaway in November. Steve and Tracey were welcoming and helpful - with great suggestions about things to do in the area. The cottage was bright and cozy with beautiful views of the lake. It is well equipped with everything we needed. Grocery shopping was close and convenient and the kitchen was easy to work in. We enjoyed poking around Peterborough and area (especially the Craft Barn). We could see that this cottage would also be a great place to visit in the summer months and we are already planning our next trip back!
