This is a comfortable, welcoming, quiet, 3-season home with mainly original finished hardwood floors and clay tiled kitchen and baths in a remote section of the shores of Dog Lake.
It's our Summer residence so it is only available during limited periods each year.
It has plenty of room for a MAXIMUM of 6 guests and is a well-equipped family-friendly cottage.
Located on scenic, fisherman-friendly Dog Lake, it is for rent by the week, or month only during the summer and is ideal for guests who prize a remote and wilderness ambiance with all the conveniences of home.
Situated directly on the lake, the property features lake access via steps onto the private beach and a sandy bottom that descends gradually so it's ideal for young swimmers! A canoe with life jackets and paddles will permit you to greet the spectacular sunrise over the lake or just enjoy the peaceful company of the loons that often float by in front of the cottage in early evening.
Sun yourself on the cottage side or boat house side decks or expansive lawn, throw a line in the water and reel in bass, perch, and sunfish. Enjoy a drink before dinner in the sun room or on the deck. Walk on the private wooded lane that serves the few well-spaced seasonal properties in the neighbourhood.
Pack your swim suit and toothbrush because nearly everything else you'll need is here. You will arrive to freshly cleaned living quarters, freshly made up beds, a closet full of laundered towels, and paper supplies for your various needs during your stay. The eat-in kitchen is very well equipped with dishes, glassware, eating utensils, pots, baking pans, fry pans, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, food processor, family-size electric pancake griddle and microwave. The Range and fridge are recently new and a full size clothes washer and dryer round out the the comforts of home.
The pot holders are sturdy and crocheted by the owner, and she keeps all the knives sharp too!
The main cottage features 3 bedrooms each with a double bed, on the first floor with an open-plan second floor that has the 3 three single beds and is ideal for children! Additionally, there is a separate "little cottage/bunkie", about the size of a 2-car garage, that has a king size bed, a double bed and sleeps up to four in privacy away from the main house.
Despite all the bed space, there is a MAXIMUM of 6 guests in the fenting party.
There are two full baths, one in the cottage with a tub and the second has a glass-walled shower in a quaintly upgraded out-building, formerly an ice house behind the main house.
Fans are available for each main room and each bedroom, and for rare muggy hot days, the main cottage features a portable air conditioner in the living room and the little cottage features a window air conditioner. On chilly days, turn on the electric baseboard heating or light a cozy fire in the living room's wood burning fireplace.
Bustling Kingston is less than 30 minutes away by car (approx. 40km), and nearby Seeley's Bay (20km) Battersea (6km), and Glenburnie (30km) have grocery stores, an LCBO, and restaurant options. Gananaque is less than 45km away too, with a casino, boat tours of the 1000 Islands and Boldt Castle. There are other numerous tour, restaurant, and outing opportunities including the historical Rideau Canal and locks nearby. There is world class golf less than 45 minutes away, and great local golf courses even closer (less than 25 minutes).
We regret that we are unable to accommodate any pets, regardless of type, age, behavior, or where they will be sleeping.
All rentals are for a minimum of full week increments and begin on Saturday at 5pm and end on the following Saturday at 10am. Multi-week rentals are welcome.
