Our family has stayed at both Vi's and Olivia's cottages over the past four years and have already booked for 2017. Want to unplug, want to spend real time with your family? This is the place to do so. We kayaked, canoed, walked the woods trails, swam in the pool, relaxed in the hot tub, played board games (supplied!), read and just simply let ourselves "be" there! The grandkids love the animals, both horses and cows...feeding them apples was a highlight of each day. Each cottage has its own fire pit...so we roasted wieners and marshmallows under the stars most nights...and the stars, you won't believe the stars! One or two of us made the sunrise a ritual...it's unbelievable to watch that spectacular event happen just across the lake from your front porch! There wasn't a single thing we needed, it was all right there. So pack your clothes and groceries and go to the farm!

I had an amazing time with friends at Vi's place! One of the best weekends I've had. The cottage was so cute and cozy and fit the 9 of us that went perfectly! It was still a bit cold but we were able to enjoy the large pool and hot tub! Having access to kayaks was also great. I loved being able to wake up and seeing lots of cows and horses in the yard who were also very friendly. Manford is also a very nice guy and was there whenever we needed him(wasn't very often). Thanks again for the awesome experience and I will definitely be returning. Cheers, Kelsie.

The cottage has amazing views and at first glance was very put together. We rented Olivia's guest house for a bachelorette weekend and were hoping to enjoy the views and relax in the hot tub. Friday was a great, but Saturday morning when we called to ask if the dryer could be hooked up so we could dry the towels so they didn't get moldy Manford said he didn't hook it up this time of year and then started accusing us of having over our limit of people, when we did not. He came down and got into a verbal fight with one of the women staying for the weekend because he didn't like her tone. He told her that she had a big mouth and need to keep it shut or we would have to leave within the hour. Every time someone tried to reason with him and explain that there were no more than 9 people there he would interrupt and say "Im a fair guy, dont you think?" and then say that he could kick us out in an hour. He was rude and scolded us as if we were children. He was very unprofessional and after that incident the mood of the weekend changed. The manner in which he handled this situation was very unprofessional and I could not believe he would speak to someone in this way. His daughter was even appalled by how her father acted and apologized for him, but we never actually received an apology from him. The cottage was also not overly clean, as there were dead black flies and beetle bugs all over the floor and cobwebs covering the windows. I cant get over the way he talked to us.

Miss Clarke, When you originally booked Olivias Guest house, You had booked for between 6 and 9 people, . I had checked the hot tubs around 7 oclock Saturday morning to find it well below the normal level indicating too many people in at one time causing the water to overflow, and 12 vehicles in the yard. As it was so early in the morning and I was heading to PEI for the day. I would address the situation when I returned. Shortly before I landed home I received a call from one of your guests asking about the dryer, and I explained that it was not hooked up yet . [I do not advertise a dryer at Olivias] I asked her how many people stayed on Friday night and she said 15, I had said that this was not acceptable as my insurance wouldn't cover that amt of people in a 3 bedroom cottage. And the rate from 9 up to 15 would be an extra charge of 120 dollars /20 per each additional person . When I told her I would be down shortly ,she had told me not to bother. I did say that I could ask all of you to leave within the hour as you had broken the original agreement on how many people was to come. When I was came down on Saturday evening there were only 5 cars and 9 people, The other 7 cars had left and obviously there would have been at least 1 person per car adding 7 people to the 9 still there coming up to 16 people. As for the other issues of cleanliness , my reviews on our face book page[ Vi's Place Cottages] discredits any validity to your claims. Manford Johnston/Vi's Place Cottages
We have stayed at Olivia's cottage two years in a row and want to keep this a yearly tradition. Manford has gone above and beyond to help (bringing extra wood, blankets, towels, etc). The view is lovely in the winter, especially from the hot tub. The skating rink in the winter is fun and there is more than enough land to snowshoe.
This is a great getaway for a group of friends or a family!
