The house is located just off Route 845 near Carters Point, NB. We have a summer cottage on the property so we can attend to any query or problem you may have as well as guide you to having a wonderful stay in our area.
We are located on the St John River side of the Kingston Peninsula. The Peninsula is about 35 kilometres long and 7 kilometres wide and is set between the St. John and Kennebecasis Rivers. There are three ferry landings and five ferries that serve our community. The ferries are free of charge.
We are about 10K from Grand Bay which has a liquor store, Sobeys grocery store, pharmacy, gasoline outlets and a Home Hardware store. It is 30 kilometres to Saint John where there are theatres, bars, restaurants, museums and other cultural and festive happening all summer long. We are about an hours drive from Fredericton and Gagetown. Moncton is about an hour and a half away. The beautiful Fundy coast is half an hours drive and well worth exploring.
Our property is 17 acres and the house is situated on Route 845. We have our own private road to the beach. The beach is about 800 feet from the house. It's about 175 vertical feet to the water. It is an easy climb for most, but some may prefer to drive. There is parking close to the beach.
In the last few years we have had some days around 30degreesC but not very often. We do not have air conditioning but usually by 10 pm it has cooled down to the low 20's and comfort.
Our water is supplied by a well. After a long dry period sometimes there is a slight smell and taste of sulphur in the water. It is safe to use and drink.

NOTES

We are trying to be fair and flexible about our rates and we have a small weekly cleaning surcharge for more than a family of four. We are charging a rate that seems in keeping with other similar properties. We just want good folks to come and enjoy our home and property and hopefully come back again. We are worried about the wear and tear upon our home of eight months of the year. We have a policy of no refunds, but we will if we can fill the cancelled space, and especially if someone is facing a disaster at their end. We do not want to profit at others hardship. Most people wanting summer rentals expect to make a contract and live up to it. We always paid up front for our entire summer rentals and fortune was good to us. Generally we like to rent from Saturday to Saturday but are flexible if we can.
