Welcome to Monarch Meadow.

An excellent home base as you explore the Bruce. Approx. 20-30 minute drive to many top attractions.

It's not fancy, but it is comfortable and private - surrounded almost entirely by woodland

Maximum 4 adults + children & 2 vehicles.

*Please review all information provided and see prices below before submitting a rental request.

Visiting the Bruce in September / October is highly recommended. Not quite as busy, and cooler temperatures make it a very pleasant time to visit.

Labour Day & Thanksgiving weekend bookings MUST be a minimum of 3 nights.

Attractions to check out - the Grotto, Halfway Log Dump (one of my favourites), the Visitor's Centre / Observation Tower / Burnt Loop Trail, Singing Sands (fantastic for little kids) /Boat tours from Tobermory including those to Flower Pot Island and Tobermory itself.

Many other options including the Lindsay Tract Trails, Lion's Head, and Earth Bound Gardens a bit further south at Red Bay.

If you want to stick closer to the cottage, it's nice to just take a walk on the nearby roadways. From mid July to August check for Monarch butterflies and caterpillars in the front yard.

At night, enjoy spectacular starry nights as the Northern Bruce Peninsula is a Dark Sky Community.

For kayak and canoe enthusiasts, directly across from the cottage is easy access to Lake Scugog, and about a 5 minute drive away, access to Lake Huron via Johnsons Harbour. (Please note kayaks and canoes are not provided although you can try Thorncrest Outfitters for rental including delivery.)

Great cottage, we enjoyed the absolute peace and quiet here, gorgeous setting and close to a lot of stuff to do...a bit of a drive to the main docks and such but well worth it. Loved and likely to return next year.

This is one of the nicest cottages we ever stayed at, and probably one of the best in the area.
The cottage is nice and clean and very well equipped.
Susan will make sure you are well informed, not just for the accommodation but for the whole vacation. I really appreciated all the info on the plants and animals, specifically on the snakes (we haven't seen any at the cottage but there are plenty on the peninsula if you go hiking).

Cottage is vey clean and quiet. Great location as most attractions are within 30 min drive. Susan is a great host, very detail oriented and easy to communicate. The detailed guide that she prepared covers everything we need to know about the area. Highly recommended.
