Ripley cottage quickly became our home away from home. Plenty of room indoors and out with two decks , picnic table and fire pit. We were a minute walk away from the beach, where we spent a lot of time beachcombing and soaking up the sun. The cottage is well stocked with books , games and puzzles . A quiet, peaceful place with friendly neighbours. Lots to see and do a short drive away or
play at the beach all day and sit around the fire in the evening and stargaze. Loved it.

We had the pleasure of staying at Ripley Cottage in mid August and hated to leave. It was so beautiful and peaceful ... an amazing location!! Just minutes from the beach which is very quiet... we rarely had to share with more than one other group of people. The tides were amazing and there was a schedule of the tides in the cottage so we could time our daily visits to the beach.

The sunsets are second to none...we are going home with amazing photos of our stay. What great memories!!

The cottage had everything you could possibly need while away on vacation .. comfy beds, a varied selection of books, games and movies, laundry facilities, iron, hair dryer, a fire pit, BBQ, lobster pot, kettle, lots of dishes and pots and pans, a fan in each bedroom and an oversized picnic table.

A pair of binoculars made it easy to see NB and PEI from the beach on a clear day.

As for things to do outside of the cottage, the town of Pugwash is nearby and there is lots to see there. A grocery store and pharmacy in town as well as interesting gift shops. (We loved Basic Spirit). A fresh fish market about 15 minutes out ...Chase's... a must visit if you love seafood. A great golf course with unbelievable views 5 km away with various different summer rate offers.

Tatamagouche is about 30 minutes out ... more great food (The Chowder House!), TataBrewery and Jost Winery.

We would definitely recommend Pugwash...and Ripleys Cottage.... to anyone interested in visiting Nova Scotia.

My family stayed at the lovely Ripley Cottage in late June/early July of 2017. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is cozy and sweet with comfy beds and furniture and is nicely decorated. A BBQ out back and a fire pit out front. Just a short walk to the beach and a million dollar view.

Bernadette, the caretaker of the property, is great. She will answer all your questions and help you out in any way she can.

Just a few (minor) complaints. The bathroom is a bit outdated. Functioning for sure, but I was travelling with my elderly parents and they found the shower difficult to use. A picnic table or patio set outside would be great to make outdoor eating easier. Also some fans might be nice. There was only one fan in the whole cottage. We were using all 3 bedrooms for our family of 5 and the nights were very warm.

Wifi works GREAT. There is a great selection of books and movies to keep you amused.

Nice neighbours in the little cottage community.

All in all a lovely little cottage. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return one day soon. Thank you!!
