This is an "olde Muskoka" island cottage, built in 1906 on Shaw Island, Lake Muskoka, and lovingly maintained and improved for 6 generations! Shaw Cottage is 5 minutes from Mortimer's Point Marina. The main house has 3 BDRMs - 1 downstairs and 2 large ones upstairs; eat-in kitchen with beautiful 3-mile lake view; cozy living room with pine walls, original antiques, and fireplace. The cabin has a comfortable sleeping/ sitting area and BRM with laundry, with baseboard heating. Child friendly! 325' frontage ensures privacy. large dock, great swimming; hammock, Muskoka chairs, gas BBQ. 12' MirroCraft aluminum boat included with 9.8hp Tohatsu motor, both purchased new 2018; canoe. A boat launch located at the nearby marina allows you to bring your own boat for exploring the lake or water-skiing.
Wifi. Parking for 1 car is included at the marina; guests may park at a daily rate. Please note references are required and smoking is not permitted. Must have boater's permit to use the aluminum boat.
We prefer rentals of 2 weeks or more and there is a 1 week minimum.

| Our stay at this Olde Muskoka cottage was wonderful. If you are comfortable with a water access cottage you will love it. Swimming and dock sitting great for swimmers, canoeing and sailing are available, and the lake is beautiful. Fresh clear water to swim in , chairs on the point to enjoy the sunrise. Comfortable beds, a cosy cabin and a sunny kitchen where we enjoyed our meals .
The cottage has the best collection of Board Games I have ever seen.
The fireplace works well for those chilly evenings.

| Spending a week at Shaw cottage was a real treat! The main cottage is very cozy, spacious, and comfortable. The kitchen is roomy and well equipped, with a large window providing a view out onto the lake. We enjoyed sailing, canoeing, and spending time on the dock. It was a delight to find such a well maintained cottage steeped in history, on Lake Muskoka. Our stay at the cottage was a memorable experience and we learned a lot about cottage life on Shaw Island while connecting with the history of the area by visiting Port Carling with its Museum and active boatworks.
