Ideally located Just under 2 Hours from Toronto - and 3.5 Hours from Ottawa. Traffic is generally no issue getting there - especially when off of the 401. Our Linwood cottage was built as a second home on a family compound four years ago on beautiful Buckhorn lake. The property has been owned by the same family for over 100 years now. We reside work full time in the Durham region - and plan to retire there sometime down the road. As a way to cover some of our summer expenses with the place - we decided it would be beneficial to rent it out a few times a year when we aren't using it. Mainly fall / Winter / Spring - when our kids are at school. The property is located about 20 minutes north of Peterborough, and is a five minute drive to both the town of Buckhorn and Curve Lake. Great shopping and attractions in both communities - as well as Peterborough. We are looking for people who just want to come and relax in a very comfortable - modern home, and who will respect the hard work - time and money we invested in it- we are really proud of it.
The cottage is a blast to entertain, and prepare meals at. 36" - 6 burner gas stove, built in Fridge, built in drawer fridge in the island, as well as built in Microwave. Plus another upright Fridge and Freezer in basement laundry room. Kitchen cabinets are all hand made from a local cabinet maker in Peterborough - Hardwood dining room table that will seat 12 people around it. Very open space - with lots of windows looking onto the lake. Floors are all hardwood as well throughout including the basement and stairs (bathrooms are all heated floors - with stone/tile flooring). All of the counter-tops and bathroom cabinets are quartz. Vaulted ceilings are finished with white cedar that was re-purposed from the trees we removed from the lot to build the cottage.
There is a screened in porch off of the kitchen - with seating, and a open deck with a barbecue off of the screened in porch. The whole place is wired for music with in wall music system - and in wall speakers, and speakers at the water and on the deck/porch. - which you can play off of your i phone through "airplay" (please respect our neighbors) - Satellite TV is there - as well as high speed internet. Although some of this stuff my be complicated to the regular user - however I can offer as much guidance as possible with it.
Central Air conditioning throughout, as well as propane heat, and a propane/gas fireplace on the main floor. Bathroom floors are all electrically heated. Laundry facilities and ironing board in basement with a Front load washer and dryer. Ping pong table and Foosball table in basement as well.
There are 5 bedrooms in the place - two upstairs (master with king bed and ensuite & 2nd bedroom with two single beds). In the basement are the other three bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed in it, one bedroom has two single beds in it, and the third bedroom has one single bed - and a set of Bunk Beds with double mattresses top and bottom.
Main floor has a nice big sectional with a couple of chairs - and basement has a couch and love seat and a few more chairs. Each floor footprint is over 1500 sq. ft. - plus the porch and deck.
105 ft. shoreline with a nice iron fire pit and 8 Adirondack deck chairs on a stone patio at the water. Wintertime this area won't be really usable due to snow accumulation - however, its there if there isn't a lot of snow. You can walk along the shore line on the ice - in the winter as well> but the lake does have some spring fed area's so only keep to the shore line - if you decide to venture. There is a boat launch across the lake at a marina (with gas there as well). Nice 50'dock to fish off of - or tie your boat to - comes out in late fall.
If you have any questions give us a call - or shoot us an e mail.

| Greg is a wonderful host and is great at communicating with his guests and making them feel welcome in his home.
The cottage itself is perfect for families as it has a beautiful backyard that overlooks Buckhorn Lake and a lovely screened-in patio as well not to mention plenty of beds and a kitchen that any chef would love.
If you're looking for a great family rental in the Kawarthas you've found it.

| The Worboy's cottage was a wonderful place for our family to gather and enjoy inside and out. We loved the fire pit, the big dining room table, comfy couch, well-equipped kitchen and screened in deck. Our interaction with the owners, from beginning to end, was a delight. Highly recommend.

| We had a great time at this cottage. The covered/meshed outside area was great, it allowed us to be outside at night time and not get eaten alive by mosquitos. The layout of the cottage was very practical, on rainy days/night the kids can be downstairs with the tv, foosball and ping pong table while the adults are upstairs. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The kids spend hours each day on the trampoline in the lake while the parents could see the kids from the deck. The owner was very responsive and helpful with getting to and settled into the cottage. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks Greg for providing such a great cottage for us to enjoy.

| Such a beautiful cottage with a million dollar view! 5 couples stayed here. Our friendships span over 40 years. We all took the time out of our busy schedules and made a choice to have some down time and reconnect. So glad we did!
The cottage had everything you could want and more. Heated bathroom floors, Glass surround showers, several TVs, state of the art kitchen with every small appliance you could ever need. A fire pit down by the water was a huge hit with our friends, sitting around and reminiscing.
The cottage was spotless and In the most relaxing location.
You won't be disappointed!!!

| If you are looking for a quiet family vacation away, in a beautiful custom built home right on the water.... then this is truly the place. The owners have done a fabulous job of creating a ?home away from home? atmosphere. From having board games, comfortable furniture (indoors and out) clean fresh linens, a mosquito free outdoor living space, furnished fire pit, picturesque dock and right down to a drawer full of spices in case you forget something! It really is a little slice of heaven away from the city.
So thank you for the wonderful family memories!
