OVERVIEW:
"Nev a Lynn" is Cornish for "Heaven on the Lake", and we truly feel that this an apt description for our second home. Photos do not do justice. It is located in a quiet & private section of the shoreline among a small group of other high end lake houses and therefore we restrict our rental to a single family.
Our cottage is a well-built 3 bedroom two story structure of about 1700 sqft with central air conditioning. With an open concept layout, it is well maintained, and an easy place to enjoy yourself. Both floors have hardwood installed, with the main floor recently installed with wide planks of natural hickory.
The cottage has one acre of land right on Lake Erie, set well back from the street. It boasts a 100' wide private beach with shallow and gradual entry into the water. You can easily see your kids playing by or in the water from inside the cottage, or outside from the grassy, shaded yard. With the lake breeze, mosquitoes are rarely a concern here, even in the evenings.
In terms of bathrooms, there is a four piece on the second floor, a two piece on the first floor, and a simple outdoor shower near the lake - the perfect place to cool down or wash the sand off from a day at the beach.
The upper floor is accessed via the custom made oak spiral staircase. Once you arrive, the kids' bedroom is a fun little place with bunk bed, sleeping for 4, while the master bedroom is a large comfortable setup with a king size sleigh bed, and a Juliette balcony overlooking the living room, and through the palladium windows, the beach and lake. The third bedroom is set up with two singles, and is the place to go when you need a bit of quiet time.
The kitchen is well appointed with the usual amenities - fridge/freezer (with ice maker), electric stove with convection oven, microwave and toaster ovens also. It is loaded with all the cooking utensils imaginable. Adjoining the kitchen proper is the dining area with a large harvest table.
In terms of the common areas, there is a sitting room near the kitchen, and the main living room is split in two with a play area for the kids with a piano, and a beautiful living area in front of the two-story high palladium windows overlooking the beach and lake. The house is well stocked with books, puzzles and assorted board games.
Inside the two car garage are all the outdoor necessities. Propane BBQ, kayak, large inflatable dinghy, inner tube, water toys, a multiple jackets of varying sizes, and a small sailboat (Sunfish). For activities outside of the water, there is bocce, horseshoes, badminton, basketball and croquet. There is also a massive handmade table for those outdoor meals and a dozen or so folding chairs.
