We are a small resort of 3 comfortable yurts at Kawartha Lakes. Perfect for your family and friends gathering or a getaway from the busy city.

We welcome families and business groups who need to disconnect from their regular lives and reconnect with nature and the outdoors. Our resort is near small city Norland, the south gate of Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park, sits next to beautiful Beech Lake.
Beech Lake is approximately 1 x .5 Kms of clean water, beautiful swimming and great fishing(big-mouth bass).

Each yurt accommodates up to 6 persons and has a shower-room and a small kitchen.

We take our guest on weekend and weekday basis rates. The minimum state is 2 nights.

We are only 1 and 3/4 hours from the GTA and minutes to towns of Norland and Coboconk with pubs, cafes, LCBO, grocery store, bank, and gas stations.

So disappointed! The Yurts were not in condition to be used for vacation at all. We are three families with kids coming to spend a full week vacation, we just stayed the first night then left the day after.
Upon our arrival, the first problem mentioned by the owner, that one of the Yurt does not have warm water. Then we noticed another Yurt that has a warm water, but after shower, water goes all out to the floor, and you need to dry it after each shower.
We had undesirable visitors on two of the Yurts, a couple of ?Mice? traveling around trying to find something to eat. We had no chance to move back all the food we brought inside the cars, and you can imaging trying to sleep By hearing them moving around. We also found their poo on multiple corners of the Yurts that were supposed to be very well cleaned before the use.
For swimming, you need to walk 5 minutes or more to get to the dock, and the water was not that clean, few frogs around. Not safe for kids, no sand, there are rocks under the water, some of them could be dangerous.
Behind the Yurts, an abundant house with plenty of not safe things to get close to, and not good looking.
Going there was the worst and expensive mistake we ever did for our vacation.

Owner response:
Hi Karim, yes, there are rocks, frogs, and nature, that is why people come here. Ecofiest is not a 5 star hotel, we are family operated ?glamp? grounds and strive to create an affordable space for large families and friends to gather and enjoy the outdoors. We aim that every group enjoys their experience, but we don't think you understood what you were signing up for. When you alerted me about the mice, I quickly sprung into action and ensured that everything within our ability was done. There are no more mice, everything has been cleaned, and we also refunded your money (making no profit from your trip). It's clear in the description and pictures that the yurts are not right at waterfront, with water/dock access through a beautiful, scenic trail. Next time you plan your vacation, please do more research and consider how much you are paying. Take care. Julia
