FAQs:
1. Is the lake clean and good for swimming?
The lake is very shallow and is sometimes reedy. We have a "reed-mat" directly in front of the cottage which is an eco-friendly method of keeping the reeds down. It is actually very nice for younger children as they can paddle/swim quite far out. We have a variety of "noodles" and youngsters are often very happy with the space in which they can use them without going over their heads. It is not, however, a Muskoka-like swimming lake. Our family does swim in the lake all the time, but again - it can be reedy in late summer.
2. Is the water in the cottage safe for drinking and is there any problem with the supply?
We have never had problems with the drinking water, and most guests report it tastes very good. It is tested yearly.

| Mike was so easy to communicate with. We stayed the first week in November, so no trampoline or bouncy castle, but the weather was beautiful and those sunsets...to die for -crimson skies! We were there with our family (mom, dad, 3 year old twins) and my parents (in their 70s). The cottage was large, very comfortable...everyone had their own space to be apart or together. Also great accessibility in the back down to the grass and to the house for my dad who has mobility issues. The kids LOVED all the toys, books, the attic room and especially the playhouse structure. We will come back again. I'm almost afraid to tell people of this find because it's so great. The only small thing was the cottage wasn't very clean. Owners said they had just hired and new cleaner and this was the second incident (the cleaner was let go I believed). Despite that part the owners were very responsive and gracious and made out time there stress free.

| This is a lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need. Our family had a great time thanks to the amazing location. Being directly on the lake was also great and convenient. The cottage has lots of space. Our favorite room was the library/tv room which had lots of great and interesting books. Our only suggestion would be to replace some of the beds and mattresses as they are pretty outdated and can be uncomfy and noisy.
The owners are very easy to communicate with and make sure that everything you could possibly need is provided. Our family is looking forward to coming back to this great cottage in the future! Thank you for having us!

| It's the perfect cottage, nothing is missing! From the outside : the hot tub, the private access to the lake, the boats, muskoka chairs... to the inside : sauna, fireplaces, comfy couches, large bedrooms, etc... The owners made sure that you always have something to do with their large collection of books, games, movies (dvd and video cassettes!!!) This cottage comes highly recommended.... We'll come back again!

| This cottage is our kids favourite place to go! We book every year with another family and the cottage is a perfect size. Lots of space for everyone to hang out and so much to do from the lake, trampoline, kids play structure (amazing) large yard, swings, fire pit, hot tub, deck, movies, games, books etc. Kitchen has everything you need, large fridge and modern appliances..dishwasher! Fireplace for cold nights too and bathrooms are clean and updated. Kids especially love the little loft with the trap door...great place for them to hang out in the morning while others sleep in. The cottage is very clean and owners are lovely to deal with each year. Large table in dining room feeds everyone and the onsite washer and dryer helps with wet towels and any mishaps. Drive is fantastic as you don't have to mess with the 400 traffics north to Muskoka. We cannot wait to return. This is a great find!

| Wow! We had such a wonderful time at sunset retreat cottage this April 2016. A selfish me doesn't want to write a review telling you how fantastic this place is, because I want it just for myself! Haha.
The cottage was generously stocked with the little extras you might forget about (even a coffee grinder and French press!). The hot tub and sauna were such a lovely luxury. The yard had a great kids play centre with slide and swings (we were adults but for families, it's perfect and right there for you to watch from the deck, fire pit or dock) a great Bon fire pit, large BBQ, plenty of chairs, and a kayak, canoe, paddle board which we all used as well as some extra toys. The owners were generous enough to have firewood and propane for us (very nice didn't expect that). The dock was perfect and everything on the property is close proximity, yet lots of room. The lake is very peaceful and its shallow, so it warms up quickly.
The inside of the cottage was lovely with plenty of books and games! The loft bed with skylight was neat, the master was gorgeous, the bunk beds were fun and the queen rooms were lovely. The dining area was great with a nice big view of the water. Oh and the laundry was great to have! The instructions given by the owners were clear and no questions left to be asked. They were great to deal with and very quick in their correspondence. Thank you so much sunset retreat! We hope to be back for some more fun and memories soon :)
