TOTAL PRIVACY ON YOUR OWN WILDERNESS RETREAT WITH PRIVATE LAKE

First off, this is currently designated as a conservation property so there is no fishing or hunting of any kind allowed.

This is truly a one of a kind opportunity to experience total privacy on your own private lake. Yes, you are the ONLY one on this mile long lake surrounded by 500 acres acres of forest, hiking trails, and abundant wildlife. We believe that nature is there to be enjoyed so THERE IS NO FISHING ALLOWED ON THE LAKE so the loons can have dinner and there are no motorized boats or jet skis so that you can watch the moose and deer up close.

Your day will start with a soothing cup of coffee sitting in the Muskoka chairs on the huge lakeside dock or in the two person dock hammock only inches away from the water. The lake is clean with no weeds and very refreshing. Enjoy preparing your breakfast in your fully updated and equipped kitchen. Next onto the kayaks to explore the lake and surrounding acres of private property and the 10,000 acres of adjoining crown land. There is also a lakeside fire pit, sandy beach, screened in porch and a field of wildflowers to enjoy. The evening will entail relaxing in the cedar hot tub followed by a Blu-ray movie or Blue Jays baseball game on the satellite television in front of a roaring fireplace. The renovated bathroom features a glass shower to melt away any remaining stress you may have.

This is how a trip to the cottage used to be. It was a chance to explore an open wilderness; a chance to escape to a place where the loudest noise is the wind in the trees or the loon on the lake at sunset. It's a chance to walk in the woods with the chance of seeing all sorts of wildlife in their natural habitat. It's a chance to expose yourself (and your kids) to the possibilities of wind and solar power (watching the charge gauge grow on a sunny day is a compelling experience that turns into a family challenge on turning things off that you're not using). It's heaven if you have dogs. The lake is perfect for swimming and chasing sticks, and the main road very quiet(we saw 6 cars in 9 days) for long walks. Exploring the lake and the swamp is also a great way to see undisturbed nature, and the birds and animals that go with it. It's not a 5 star resort; it's a cottage vacation without all the bells and whistles; instead it's calm, serene, and peaceful. It's the great escape.

What a fantastic place! My partner, 19 yo son and I enjoyed such a relaxing week this past August. Being on your own private lake, with no other cottages, people or boats was an experience few have the opportunity to enjoy. Bonus - our dog was able to run free (and that in itself was a big plus for us).

Outside we enjoyed the large dock, warm, deep water swimming and kayaks. The hammock is a great add. Lovely lake to kayak on and explore the beaver activity. Great deck for meals and a nice BBQ. Loons nightly!

Inside, well-appointed kitchen, lovely furnishings, HUGE fireplace, lots of games and DVD's. Loved being off the grid - and Tim did a great job of explaining everything.

Note that the water's edge drops quite suddenly - which might be a concern if you have little ones.

So fortunate to have experienced this Muskoka oasis - we hope to return again another year.

Our family enjoyed our stay it was a very peaceful and we were able to relax. The cottage had everything you could think of. Games, satellite Television with DVD movies and even a collection of music CDs. We had fun using the Kayaks and the row boat. The only thing I didn't like were the bugs, but that comes with nature and the outdoors. We would definitely go back.

Rented this cottage for a group of four colleagues over a weekend. One of the colleagues was from India and this cottage literally blew her mind. The concept of a private lake was so foreign to her and the beauty of the leaf's changing colors was an experience she'll never forget. Tim was a great host in planning our trip and ensured we had everything we needed. The Cottage itself has all the amenities you'd expect with some extra nice touches. The Hot Tub was so peaceful and a truly Canadian experience. Worth every penny to rent this place to have a peaceful week/weekend.

This was a getaway for myself and my fiancé just after Thanksgiving. I have owned or been at cottages all my life and Jenny only visited a couple - with very negative results. I wanted to show her the 'real' side of cottage living. She was dubious, but got in the car! It turned out to be a frigid weekend with below zero temps but it couldn't have turned out better. Like you, renting a cottage unseen means parsing through reviews like this for the truth. Well, the truth is this: Tim's place is a truly superb haven nestled in the north woods. Well appointed with a (much-need that weekend) space heater and large fireplace, great kitchen, shower and lots of room, we basked in the warmth and comfort of this cottage. We loved it yet never got to used the beautiful dock or swim in the private lake due to the snow and rain. The dog was also thrilled to have a private forest to run in with us. Our three nights were a restful haven for us and Jenny is now keen to return - perhaps in warmer weather. A great cottage has a 'feel' to it - and I sensed it the moment we walked through the door. We look forward to returning to 'our' special spot in the woods this summer.
