Peggy's Point is an elegant, comfortable cottage with a sunny, sandy beach on Maple Lake. Imagine a point of land with sunset on one side and sunrise on the other. Six boats are included in summer. Snow shoes are yours to try out in Winter.

Every bedroom has a lake view. Guests describe this cottage as a magical place. Perhaps it's the country antiques, the fire place, the quality mattresses and pillows, the duvets on all beds, the over-sized bathtub, the high speed internet, or satellite TV - it all adds up to a wonderful getaway.

In summer enjoy the shallow sandy beach, 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, paddle boat, row boat, fire pit and many other amenities right on site. In winter, enjoy the snow shoe trails and downhill skiing close by.

The cottage has plenty of activities: hammock at lakeside, badminton net, horseshoe pit, volley ball net, deep water dock for mooring a boat or deep water swimming, and wood burning fireplace with firewood supplied for chilly nights. The lakeside fire pit is perfect for roasting 'smores!

In winter, skate right in front of the cottage (weather permitting), or hunker down in front of a roaring log fire.

There are three spacious bedrooms. The large master suite has a king size bed, sitting room loft and balcony sitting area. The quilt room has a queen and single bed. The blue room has a double bed plus bunk beds. This room has black out curtains making it perfect for children.

Our capacity is 8 people. This cottage is spacious enough for 8 and cozy enough for 2.

Peggy's Point is a very special place near Algonquin Park. It's my third time visiting and I can't wait to come back again. The location is fabulous! Gorgeous Lake, unforgettable fall colours, great conversations around the fire pit, beautiful trips on canoes... What an amazing weekend we had! The cottage offers everything you need for the perfect getaway. Fireplace, big comfy arm chairs, large beautiful kitchen, and top quality beds, pillows and duvets. My favourite cottage in Ontario!

Owner response:
I am so glad to welcome your family to Peggy's Point again. Hope you return to make more wonderful memories.

I first visited this cottage about 4 to 5 years back when a friend invited me to join them. We had an amazing time and the place blew my mind! The cottage itself as well as the location is exceptional. Since then I've always wanted to return. Now that I have a family, I decided to go there with them and some of my new friends. They all were impressed the same way as I first was. The cottage truly complements the experience of the location. Private beach, dock with boats, and a full cottage that can accommodate 3 small families as well as give the 'cottage feel' are truly with the trip. The place has been well kept since my first visit and I noticed upgrades (like the kitchen and out house). Since my first visit to Peggy's Point and till today, I hold it as my 'golden standard' for cottage experience. I will most likely return again one day. Until then, I highly recommend this place to anyone and please keep this place's standards up to par so that everyone can enjoy it and I can visit again. I thank the owner for sharing this treasure as well as keeping it well maintained. Such as place is where people can create wonderful memories and write chapters in their lives. For me, it's a place I keep returning to because the memories it allows me to create there I hold dear and I'm always happy to relive and retell those stories. Thanks again Peggy's Point! I look forward to the next time.

Owner response:
Thanks for your enthusiasm about Peggy's Point. We do plough most of our rental earnings into improvements and maintenance so it is wonderful to have that appreciated.

My husband and I have just arrived at Peggy's Point for what I believe is our fifth (we are debating that point right now) visit. We first discovered this little slice of heaven when we were looking for a place to spend a few days for our first wedding anniversary. We came in October, and were immediately smitten, and have been coming back every since. Walking through the door feels like home, and any cares that we might have brought with us from life in the city are immediately swept away upon arrival. I always take a big breath of that fresh cottage country air and then walk down to the water to say hello to the lake upon arrival.

This cottage lot is beautifully treed and has water on both sides of the point. I love waking to the sound of the water, no matter where in the cottage I am sleeping. The water is a stones throw away from the cottage deck, and the private beach is just a few short steps down the path. Perfect for swimming or kayaking, the lake brings lots of joy to us each year.

I recommend this cottage to everyone who asks me where we vacation, and I would recommend it to anyone reading this review as well. Carolyn, the hostess, is always wonderful and very helpful with any questions or concerns we might have.

My only suggestion, bring a fan if you have one. I always find that it is warm upstairs in the cottage, and the ceiling fans just never quite make enough of a difference for my husband and myself.

Happy cottaging!

Thanks for your lovely review, Sara. To keep things cool, open both windows in the loft sitting room and the updraught lets the heat out. When the temperature goes down, or it rains, close them to stay cosy warm. Enjoy your week!

Beautiful, clean cottage with lovely view. Best cottage we have rented thus for for our annual girls get away.
Highly recommended. We hope to make this our yearly spot!

We love to welcome guests back to Peggy's Point so we will see you again next year!

My husband and I stayed here for a week in April. We booked this particular cottage because of it's reviews and I am so happy we did! The cottage felt luxurious and never feel like it was missing anything yet still retained that cottage feel. Carolyn left detailed instructions on things such as activities in the area, how to operate the fireplace, directions to local spots, checking in and out, and was very available for any questions. I have never experienced that with a rental property before - it is usually just payment process and then left to your own devices. Carolyn definitely wants her cottagers to have the best possible time - which was so appreciated as we went during off season! The property is gorgeous; we spent the warmer days sitting outside overlooking the water, watching the sunset and having a fire and the colder/rainy days inside, curled up in front of the fireplace and watching the rain. Every single room has a view of the water. The bedroom even has a little loft area with couches, a tv and lots of books and board games. The mattress has heating pads and it will be hard to return to my non-heated bed at home after this! Even though it was off season, there was still lots of hiking trails, craft breweries etc. in the area. We never feel like there was nothing to do. It was an absolute perfect vacation, worth every penny and we would love to return. I would absolutely recommend this cottage to friends, couples or families. It is blissful!
