| We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is located on a beautiful little island and we spent many happy hours just watching the birds that live or visit the island. My kids loved playing in the water (water shoes really are a must) and reading on the large porch. They also enjoyed canoeing around the island and star gazing.
The interior of the cottage is very inviting and cozy. During the few rainy days we had, we were comfortable and happy inside. The loft did get a bit warm, but we were there during a heat wave so it's understandable.
The kitchen has pretty much everything you need, including a French press for coffee. Dish soap and dish clothes were supplied. We cooked full meals for a family of four and were never missing any essential equipment.
All linens were supplied, although we brought our own beach towels. There was hand soap, bars of soap, and toilet paper supplied at the cottage. The shower is quite small but it does the job.
The hosts were excellent. They were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Jack was super responsive to my emails in advance of our stay and answered all my questions.
We'd be happy to return here for another restful retreat.

| This cottage is perfect, if you handle bugs. I have enjoyed everything about this visit...my partner a little less so.
Jack and Bonnie are wonderful hosts. With their golden retiever Misty, we felt right at home. Misty loves people, and sometimes jumps a little, but at 3.5, she's mostly well behaved.
The outdoor space at the cotrage is perfect. Lots of outdoor seating and a well covered porch, I was able to sit outdoors during a storm and for lightning bug watching, and stayed dry and comfy.
The cottage does not have AC or fans, so it can get pretty warm; the water is a perfect place to cool off. The kitchen has a stove top, sink and fridge. And everything needed to make a great cup of coffee, but there is no oven, microwave or toaster. There's a small BBQ outside. We didn't bring anything that needed to be cooked, and with the heat, I am very thankful for that.
The water is nice and cool! There is no sand, just a small rocky "beach." I would definitely recommend water shoes, as the rocks and shells can be sharp, but the water is clear and you can see the bottom even a ways away from shore. I spent hours in the water watching birds, boats, and even a storm roll in. I had intended to use the kayaks, but ended up finding the silence (save for the birds) so perfect that I never bothered.
I loved this short visit and would love to come back in the fall to see the leaves changing. Even though I was working, I feel rejuvenated and relaxed. Thanks Jack and Bonnie
