We stayed at Hillside for 4 nights on a "girls getaway". This place is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly need for a cottage stay.
The property has an elevated location with a stunning view of the lake; there is a fabulous deck surrounded by beautiful gardens and lots of wildlife to observe. The ambiance is serene and peaceful.
The cottage itself is tastefully decorated and was well appointed with all the comforts of home. The beds were comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. Lots of books, magazines, DVDs and a big-screen TV with Apple TV for entertainment. Wifi is also available.
A nice 5-10 minute walk into the quaint little village and a small beach; lots of friendly neighbours along the way. A short drive to a variety of activities and beaches. You can be as active as you want to be!
The host was efficient, responsive and extremely helpful in providing information about the area.
I was allowed to bring my little dog for a small cleaning fee.
The only drawback is that cell phone service is spotty, we had to walk down the street to a clearing in order to get a signal - this might be an issue for those that need to stay connected for work etc. but it's also nice to have a break from the phone!
We highly recommend this property and we will definitely be returning to Hillside Hideaway - a home away from home.

In a word: Perfection. There is literally not a single thing lacking about this lovely space. They have thought of virtually everything--from a quality kitchen mixer to a rain slicker. Don't bother packing a night light for the bathroom; there's one already. Skip packing games, CD's, DVD's, magazines, cards, etc. -- there is a huge selection - something for everyone. No matter what you think you'll need in the kitchen? It's already there.

The mattresses and linens are top of the line. We normally have issues sleeping in a "strange" bed but we slept like logs. Tons of pillows. Tons of storage. No issues whatsoever with the Wi-Fi.

The grill had plenty of propane and every tool you'll ever need.

The one and only thing I would mention is that there is a bunch of stairs to get in - the cottage is called Hillside after all, so if you have mobility issues, this might pose a problem.

Cozy Winter Getaway - We recently stayed at Hillside Hideaway and had a fabulous time. This cozy cottage is nestled in a lovely community in walking distance of Lake Erie. The cottage offers many amenities including a recently renovated bathroom. The kitchen is a cooks dream with all of the cooking essentials provided. No need to bring any kitchen utensils, just your groceries. We thoroughly enjoyed the views of the lake while sitting next to a wonderful fire. We will definitely be back again!

We had plans cancelled on us at the last minute but we were able to find and rent Hillside with short notice. Great price, awesome location and a beautiful and fully outfitted cottage. Beautiful skylights, luxurious bedding and amazing bathroom. We will definitely be back.

We spent our second time at the cottage last September and we couldn't ask for better weather. This cottage is a little treasure tucked away in Normandale, we love the location on the hilltop and the view is amazing, every morning we had coffee on the deck and would count the fishing boats on the water. The cottage is very well appointed, it's up to date very bright and clean and pet friendly. We love the area with Turkey Point, Port Dover, Port Rowan and other small towns and villages just a short drive away. We took a day trip to Waterford to see the fields and fields of pumpkin patches, a great antique shop and a wonderful quilt shop, every year we go we always find a new place to explore. Can't wait to return to this wonderful cottage.
