We really enjoy our stay at the cottage. It is beautiful place and peaceful. It is nicer than it appears on pictures. It was nice to sleep with a breeze ever night. The kitchen is well equipped. You can go sit in the screened in porch when it rains and there is no bugs either. You can also watch the stars at night. There is no fire pit that is the only negative point to this beautiful cottage. It is very close to a provincial park.It is a nice walk to get there. The homemade granola that the owners left for us was delicious.I highly recommend this place.

Owner response:
So happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry about the fire pit. There were so many fires in the Maritimes and the Summerhouse is surrounded by dry fields and close to the woods, we thought it wiser to forgo outdoor fires this year. Thanks for the review!

Gail and Joe are wonderful, kind and very thoughtful hosts. Their cottage is beautiful, quiet and stocked with almost everything you could possibly need. It was spotless, comfortable and roomy. Great places to sit outside and even a screened in porch for when it rains. I was a little worried with no AC, due to the recent heat waves but Gail assured me the ocean breezes would make it comfortable... she was exactly right! LOVED sleeping with the breezes through the windows - so peaceful!
It is in a quieter part of the island, but close enough to Charlottetown, Cornwall and many tourist areas. We stayed 2 weeks, and booked for THREE weeks next summer, before we left. Cannot recommend this place enough! Absolutely NO complaints or suggestions - it was literally perfection.

We have stayed at SummerHouse several times over the past 10 years. This cottage has everything; a view of Northumberland Straight, gorgeous sunsets, privacy, a beach across the road... the beds in the 3 bedrooms are comfy and the Kerns have thought of everything to equip the cottage with all we ever needed. The screened in porch is in addition to the main deck, and is terrific to have the choice. We love this little piece of paradise. If you are looking for a peaceful PEI retreat, look no further.

This was our 2nd time staying at Summer Garden, the first in 2016. Lovely cottage , perfect location from Charlottetown and the Confederation Bridge. Cycling trails are numerous on PEI and within close driving distances to this cottage. Our hosts were most welcoming. It was a wonderful week and we look forward to another stay in 2020
