With carpet and vinyl flooring throughout for easy upkeep, this very private and bright 1076 sq.ft cottage is well maintained and stocked with all the comforts of home. Families with young children will appreciate the 4 piece bathroom including a one piece bathtub and shower and low flush toilet, also in-cottage laundry. Two bedrooms(queen and 2 single beds) located to the rear of the cottage away from any family noise in the evenings, sleep 4 comfortably.The large kitchen/diningroom area is fully equipped with fridge, stove/oven,range hood fan and microwave and all cooking necessities. The spacious livingroom has quality furnishings including a sectional couch/double sofa bed which sleeps 2 extra people and a glass faced woodstove for flame viewing,including firewood. A 19" flat screen color TV DVD/Blu-Ray player now has satellite TV(Sept. 2011), some board games, books, cards and puzzles, dartboard(bring your own darts) for family fun. Land line for local calling, a phone card is required for long distance calls. 911 Service. Potable well water. PET/SMOKE FREE. Recycling is encouraged. No cell phone/Internet service.
Many golf courses within a one hour drive, the lovely towns of Perth, Lanark village and Balderson have quaint shops and restaurants. Many other small fishing lakes on crown land with public access in the area include Crotch, Mosque, Canonto, Granite, The Quinns, Summit, Mair. The Double "S" Marina in Ompah offers convenience items, boat rentals, tackle,licenses,bait, movie rentals, gas, propane exchange, chip wagon,take-out ice cream, gas, Public Internet etc. Many services in the next village of Plevna also include LCBO, grocery store, gas, propane, mini golf and a family restaurant, take-out and ice cream counter. Please bring your own bed sheets, pillow cases, bath and swimming towels, and paper products.
This is a great Winter getaway cottage and area , offering visitors the opportunity to partake in many outdoor winter activities. Located in District 1 of the OFSC snowmobile trail system, and just minutes to the groomed trails, allows the Winter enthusiast enjoyment including snowmobiling, ATV'ing, ice fishing, X-country skiing.
Waterfront: frontage is all new dock and wharf, short easy trail and staircase to lake Heating: electric heat and woodstove, including firewood. Children allowed: Yes. Guests allowed: Yes, please discuss with owners in advance.
Equipments:
Located just 100 km SW of Ottawa. With "drive to the door" access, The Maples cottage boasts a large, furnished, carpeted screened porch off the diningroom for extra bug free living and play space. Relax in the evening with a good book and listen to the call of the loons. Horseshoe pits which double as sandboxes and a large yard provide extended area for family fun. Complimentary propane BBQ on outdoor patio area makes for enjoyable outdoor meals. An above ground firebowl is available for small evening campfires, local fire restrictions will apply. A less than 2 minute walk down a gentle trail through trees on the property and a staircase has you sitting on and swimming from your own private new dock and wharf with storage shed for your personnal waterfront items.(lakefront access is snow covered during Winter months and view of the lake is limited during the Summer due to mature foliage) A fairly shallow swimming area on one side of the dock has a gradual slope and no weeds, the lake bottom is a mix of sand and smaller pebbles,water shoes may be handy.Children will enjoy rock bass fishing from the end of the dock. Complimentary new 15.6' canoe, new pedalboat in 2010 & 4 patio chairs at the lakeside. Docking space for your own boat and boat launch is just a short distance from the dock.
