Very rare crystal-clear ocean blue waters for adults and children swimming right off the dock! Very well maintained with lots of renovations and upgrades! A perfect family cottage nestled right in the woods! This picturesque cottage rental offers what most people want on their vacation - privacy, great waterfront, peaceful natural surroundings, a comfortable cottage with lots of space, and a Muskoka screened sunroom. Access to this cottage starts with a picture perfect winding road through the forest and ends in a circular driveway. Your first sight of the cottage will be a pleasant surprise - nestled in amongst a gorgeous mature forest with a stunning view of the lake from a perfect vantage point. Most people will probably be drawn to the waterfront immediately and be totally delighted with what is on offer - several docks, a hammock, various seating areas, a gazebo, and a fire pit - an amazing waterside area. The whole family will enjoy the room to swim from the docks or just enjoy sitting and relaxing. We are sometimes asked about the cottage picture that makes it look as though there's a close neighbour. The building shown in the photo is all Moosewood - it's a long, sprawling cottage with so much room for everyone. The nearest neighbour is to the south (left) and is screened by a forest of trees making this a very private cottage. To the north (right) there is nothing but a tranquil bay and crown land. Most of your time will probably be spent down at the waterfront relaxing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking or just enjoying nature, but the interior of this cottage won't disappoint either. There is lots of space for the family to spread out. The large games room has comfortable seating, a pool table, and dart board. The living room at the other end of this spacious cottage has the Satellite HDTV, DVD, VCR, sound system and Bell 4G Internet (Wi-Fi throughout the cottage). The dining area and well appointed kitchen are in between. A large screened sunroom with a casual dining table and chairs is accessed by sliding doors from the living room. Three bedrooms and a bathroom complete this spacious accommodation. There is a new high-end UV water treatment system feeding all of the taps and shower. A newly renovated outhouse is part of the package as well.
This is a nature-lover's paradise, with majestic soaring trees surrounding you, and nothing but peace and quiet and the call of the loons to serenade you. This peaceful escape will be just what the doctor ordered!
We do not allow our guests/renters to bring boats to the lake as our lake community likes peace and quiet. We have two canoes and two kayaks for your water/boating enjoyment.
This is a great area for exploring. Bancroft is just 40 minutes to the north for supermarkets, craft shops and restaurant. Or take a meandering country road to Egan Chute Provincial Park and picnic by the falls. To the west is Coe Hill, Chandos Lake, and a little further is Silent Lake Provincial Park. Algonquin Park is only 1 hour 45 minutes away. A convenience store is only 20 minutes away for any staples you might need.
Despite all the area has to offer, we hear that most visitors' time is spent at the cottage relaxing, enjoying family time, swimming, canoeing, enjoying nature, and just having fun! Most people tell us they did not want to leave!

NOTES HOLIDAY & SPECIAL PRICING: - Reservations are held only when a minimum of 50% down deposit is received. All guests are subject to an approval basis. NO STUDENTS. All groups are to be 30 years and older. Families are welcome. An occupancy/environmental fee of $50.00 (plus HST) per person per day applies to groups over 4 people. Renter Cancellation: If the Renters wish to cancel the booking, they must notify Moosewood in writing and the following policy shall apply: a) If the cancellation is between 4 weeks and 90 days from the occupancy date, then the Renters will be responsible for the Rental Deposit but will be refunded the Damage Deposit; however, Moosewood Point will endeavour to find a replacement booking for the same time period. If Moosewood Point is successful in a "Complete Re-Booking", then all monies will be refunded less an administration and cancellation fee of $300. b) If the cancellation is within 4 weeks of the occupancy date, the renter is required to pay the full balance of the week, but will be refunded the Damage Deposit (if applicable). c) If the cancellation is more than 90 days prior to the occupancy date, a full refund will be issued with the method of payment used less an administration and cancellation fee of $150. - Damage deposit of $1,000 (no HST) is required. | This is the second time we've stayed at Moosewood and it was perfect both times. Driving in is like you are entering a special place in the woods. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, spacious, and charming. Every attention to detail has been given - from the welcome bottle of wine to the helpful and informative notes from the owners.
We love the view from the windows, and the screened in porch is amazing. There is lots to do on rainy days in the games room. The property is gorgeous - private with lots of lakeside dock space to lounge and enjoy the wildlife and the sunsets.
The lake is clear and very quiet compared to other lakes we've been to. This is our new home away from home!

| Moosewood is a delightful retreat in the woods, on a very private bay and surrounded by nature. My family enjoyed swimming in the clear water, kayaking around the lake, and hanging out on the dock and the screened porch. The roomy cottage was clean and well-maintained. The furniture was comfortable (including the beds) and the kitchen was well-equipped. While there was no dishwasher, there were other great amenities such as drinkable tap water and a washer/dryer. We loved the pool table, the quaint decor, and all of the places to relax inside and outside of the cottage. This is a beautiful, tranquil spot for nature lovers! Catherine and Peter are gracious and helpful hosts who evidently respect nature and take great care of the cottage. We would definitely return for another vacation at Moosewood!

| Moosewood is a beautiful cottage located in a peaceful setting on a quiet bay of Cashel Lake. Would highly recommend a stay for those who enjoy the comforts of a well appointed cottage nestled in a rustic environment filled with wildlife. The screened in porch was a dream.

| We have been renting cottages for 15 years and this is by far our favourite place to come and relax. We are return renters! The view of the sunsets is spectacular and the screened room is a great additional space to have dinner or a morning coffee. The lake is clear and great fishing! The week we stayed here the loons gave us quite a show as they gathered for their morning calls. There is plenty of space with the well appointed rooms and the kitchen has everything you could imagine to make fabulous meals! Thoroughly enjoyed our week!

| Again this year everything conspired to make our Moosewood stay memorable. We read, played games, put together a 1000-piece puzzle, swam, and kayaked our days away. With two docks, a raft, two kayaks plus a canoe, we hadn't been in or on the water so much in years. Then there was the kitchen, equipped with every tool imaginable. The only problem come mealtime was where to eat - kitchen (bay window), dining room (seats ten), screened-in veranda, picnic table by the bar-b-cue or down on the dock. We didn't get rain but the pool table got its share of use with a tournament most nights.
