Description
|
This two bedroom cottage is right on the waterfront of Lake Catchacoma with 105 feet of lake frontage. It offers safe swimming and boating and access to a seven lake system. There is a 16 by 20 foot dock with ramp which sits right off the cottage front steps.
If you need to moor a boat, there is marina very close by to launch your boat. There is also a public launch at the other end of the lake. You can not launch from our place as the elevation will not allow it.
There are two decks, a larger one in front and a smaller at the back entrance. The cottage faces SE.
The kitchen has stove, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, blender, kettle, dish towels, tableclothes, glasses, pots and pans and dishes and cutlery. The kitchen table and chairs are in a separate eating area next to the kitchen. There is a large window to allow a lake view when having your meals.
The cottage has two small bedrooms, one with double bed and other with bunk beds. We ask you to please provide your own towels and bed linens and pillows. We have ample comforters available but please bring your own if you prefer.
There is a three piece bathroom; sink, toilet and shower. Pumped in lake water services the bathroom and kitchen. Although this water is not potable, it does give you the shiniest hair. Please bring your own drinking and cooking water. The lake water is not filtered.
There is a large living room with two sofas for ample seating in the living room area. There is a wood-burning stove between the eating area and the living room and we will provide one nights worth of wood. If you require more we can sell it to you for $10 for 7 logs. This is the price we ourselves have to pay for it. Baseboard heaters also provide warmth if you should need it. There is a TV, a DVD player. We provide some reading books. Feel free to exchange books. There are also board games such as Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, etc.
You have a good view of the lake from the living area, the kitchen and the dining area.
There is no cable or phone or internet. There is a large hill behind us and it even limits cell phone reception. Some cell phones manage reception from our driveway or dock but most have to go off the fire route for reception. You can use the land line in our cottage, should you need to.
The cottage is smoke and pet free.
We intemittently experience internet signal interruption, so if you do not hear from us in a day after your inquiry, you could call us at 705 657 1891 for immediate information. Certainly, try the internet first.
There is a propane BBQ and here is a picnic table. There is a chiminera on the dock should you choose to use it. There is also a firepit. Wood for the firepit and the chiminera is plentiful and provided for you as long was you do not mind burning wood which is below the quality for indoor burning. If you choose to have indoor quality wood then you would either bring it yourself or purchase if from us. Please note that the municicpality controls when campfires may be lit. There may be a ban on campfires if it has been dry for a longer period of time. There are signs on the county road 507 which let you know if a ban is in place. You can look for these on your way in. You can also ask us and we will let you know. There is a sign when you first make the turn to the 507 and another sign about 16 kms up the 507 at the firehall/community center just 2 kms from the cottage. The municipality also rules that campfires can not be started before 6pm.
We provide a canoe and two life jackets. Some people prefer to bring their own life jackets so they can be sure of their fit. Every person using the canoe must be wearing a life jacket. We want your stay to be safe and fun-filled.
We intemittently experience internet signal interruption, so if you do not hear from us in a day after your inquiry, you could call us at 705 657 1891 for immediate information. Certainly, try the internet first.
Some reminders: You need to provide your own drinking water, bed linens, pillows, towels and life jackets. There is a maximum of four for sleeping. Guests are welcome as long you do exceed the limit of four for sleeping If you have any questions please call or email us.
