Located on the Clyde River at Brightside in Lanark Highlands.
NOTE: Sleeps 4-6. Maximum 4 Adults OR Maximum 2 Adults with 4 Children.
Recent Upgrade: New Drilled Well, drinking water now available.
Approximately 350' of Shoreline. Great for canoeing, kayaking, rafting, whitewater tubing, fishing, shallow swimming, mountain biking, and Crown Land near by for ATVing. Check out the links below for more information about the area, along with extra things to see and do.
In Spring the Trillium flowers are in bloom from late April until late May, changing in colour from white to purple.
In Summer there are lots of wild berries to enjoy, starting with some wild strawberries in June, then wild raspberries starting out red in July and turning black in August.
In Fall the leaves and foliage change with spectacular colours and views throughout the region.
WATERFRONT:
The river has a natural sandy gravel bottom, there are rocks, but the small kiddy wadding area is clear. There are no weeds. There is a sandy beach area setup. It's a gradual entry and very calm in mid summer (July/August), great for kids and fairly shallow. It varies in depth throughout the season. In the spring it can be approximately 6 feet to 8 feet deep. In mid summer it is usually approximately 2 1/2 feet to 3 1/2 feet deep or more depending on the amount of rain received. There is a deeper swimming hole over your head about 1500 feet down stream. Usually you can start swimming in the water at the beginning of June, because the water warms up faster than a Lake.
One of the most amazing things about the water is the sound the river makes. In the spring it's the sound of raging rapids. In mid summer it's like a babbling brook, it is very soothing and relaxing.
WHITE WATER ADVENTURE:
This river can be very fun for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and whitewater tubing. You can float downstream from here to Cedardale (approx 3km) or continue on to Wolf Grove Road (approx 8 km) where you can park a vehicle or bicycle and then return. It contains Class I and Class II rapids. In the spring when the water level is at it's highest, they could be considered Class III. In mid summer (July/August) when the water level is at it's lowest these rapids are fairly tame, but use caution and make sure you know how to do this before attempting it.
FACILITY DETAILS:
Main Cabin (2 bedroom):
Has master bedroom with a queen bed, second bedroom with a queen bed and a double bed separated by curtains and shelving units, and a double futon-sofa-bed in the living room. Contains fridge / stove / microwave / toaster / coffee maker / pots and pans / dishes / cutlery etc. There is one bathroom - flush toilet / sink / shower.
There is also a privy outside that can be used as well.
Cabin/Trailer: (Additional charges for use of this unit - $100/week or $200/month)
Has 1 single and 1 double bunk. There are partial kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, cold water sink). There is no bathroom in this unit.
Smoking: No. This is a non-smoking facility.
Pets: No. No pets allowed.
Fire pit with some wood available.
Gas BBQ is also available - gas included.

Canoe (max 800 lbs) - $50/weekly
Three Person Sit-in Raft (max 540 lbs), - $30/weekly
Single Person sit-on Rafts/Tubes (max 200 lbs) - $5/weekly
All boats come with appropriate paddles, throw rope, whistle, bailing bucket, and PFD's (some children 20lbs+ sizes available). Liability Waiver / Rental Agreement / Security Deposit required. Ask for details.
