Description

Situated on one of the nicest beaches on Kootenay lake this quaint 70 year old log cabin is perfect for a relaxing family vacation. Our cabin boasts 3 bedrooms on the main floor and a loft that overlooks the spacious dining and living areas. The central river rock fireplace can be seen and enjoyed from all rooms. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, microwave, mixmaster,toaster, pots and pans. Linens are supplied along with comfy duvets. Out the front door you will enjoy the panoramic view of Kootenay Lake. Rain or shine, the large deck can be enjoyed as part of it is covered by vaulted roof. From the deck you will see a slate patio surrounded by lawns and flower gardens. in the centre is a fire pit that we encourage people to have small fires to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Down two steps and you will find yourself on a beautiful sandy beach. The lake here is shallow and is safe for swimmers of all ages. The boat dock is available for your boat at no additional charge. At the entrance to Crescent Beach Resort is a Health Food Store that has anything from tasty wraps to all kinds of healthy food prep needs. Within walking distance you will find Kokanee and Redfish campgrounds in which the Kokanee spawning channels are located. Also here are many hiking trails and over 150 campsites, beaches, group day use area, group camping area and visitors centre.. This centre offers daily interpretation programs, natural history displays, regional and backcountry travel information as well as a gift shop during the summer months. Just a short mile drive will bring you to the Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park access road. Once in the this breathtaking park you can experience a multitude of alpine country activities. Kokanee Park store is also located just beyond this access road, where you can pick up groceries, liquor or rent a boat. Ainsworth Hot Springs is a 30 minute drive north from the cabin where they have natural mineral pools and caves. Located just 12 miles north of Nelson on Hwy 3A this summer retreat is close to all points of interest. Whether it is shopping for locally handcrafted and world renowned art, outdoor activities and sports, or just relaxing in the sun on the beach, we have it all.
